Deborah Diamant

Deborah is a proud member of the Still Awesome After Thirty Crowd. She rides a 20-year-old ten-speed bike Surly Steamroller and an Orbea (not at the same time), plays records, goes to shows, and keeps it vegan. She recently graduated from law school, where she co-chaired her school's chapters of the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund and National Lawyers Guild. She is now an attorney admitted to practice in NY and NJ. She spends her days advocating for low income tenants' rights at the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and spends her nights in meeting after meeting after meeting with rad social justice types. (Prior to law school, Deborah went to art school to study painting, cobbled together a Master's thesis about artists' organizing tactics during the Vietnam era, and spent nearly a decade working for a national women's health non-profit organization.)

Deborah is a co-founder of Vegan Drinks and is an active member of the National Lawyers Guild's NYC chapter and reminds all AR activists to give a call to the Green Scare Hotline if the need ever arises.
