We’ve all pondered our ethical obligations we have toward animals. Behind the Mask: The Story of the People Who Risk Everything to Save Animals is about the people that risk their very freedom to help those who don’t have a voice, the people who aren’t afraid to go all the way.
This documentary (recently enjoyed by folks at Animal Rights 2006) takes a closer look at the individuals involved in direct action for animal liberation. It explores both their motivations and the consequences of their actions.
The New York premier of the film takes place on Thursday, September 14, at 7:30 PM, Ingrid Newkirk, president of PETA, and Shannon Keith, director and producer (as well as animal–rights lawyer), are guest speakers. There’s a $10 suggested donation at the door, and host of the event is AMC Loews Village 7 at 66 3rd Avenue (at East 11th Street). The first 50 students will get in for free.
Hope to see you there!
