We just received word via our Twitter feed, courtesy of Megan of Boneshakers AND (now) Champ’s Family Bakery:

We just opened Champs! SOFTLY. Sort of like practice, except for real. Lots of cookies! Scones! Muffins! 176 Ainslie at corner of Leonard!

We’ll add Champ’s to our restaurant directory soon, but until we do, read our June 22nd post on Champ’s for more information.

   You might want to call ahead. Right now they only have cookies, cupcakes, and muffins. Pastries and baked goods with yeast will start appearing next week. Call ahead and make sure they have what your sweet-tooth is craving. 718.599.2743

   I asked them last night and the they told me that the hours are is till 10pm on weeknights and 6 or 7pm on weekends?

   This is awesome! The first real vegan bakery in NYC! (Babycakes calls themselves a vegan bakery but they serve cow’s milk – weird)
