Meatout is the world’s largest grassroots diet education campaign and has been celebrated every year on (or around) March 20th since 1985. A vegetarian holiday of sorts, Meatout is your chance to encourage your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and complete strangers to turn over a new leaf this Spring and try a vegan diet. Lots of individuals and groups across the country (and abroad) have organized events like colorful ‘lifestivals,’ street theater, lectures, public dinners, cooking demos, food samplings, leafleting, information tables called ‘steakouts,’ and a Congressional Reception in Washington, DC. Why not get in on the action and represent?
