- Farm Sanctuary’s been out rescuing pigs from the floods in the Midwest. Help them out with a donation, or foster a pig in need. (If you’ve got room for Babe in your abode, call 607-583-2225 x223.)
- Get behind LOHV’s efforts to get a dog-tethering ban passed. Call your council peeps about Intro. 545 (visit the League of Humane Voters of NYC for their info), and pony up some dough here.
- Tell those involved with the Rabies Challenge Fund that fewer rabies vaccines is no reason to infect, experiment on and kill poor, innocent pups. Send your e-mails to founder and co-trustee Kris Christine, co-trustee Jean Dodds and researcher Ronald Schultz, D.V.M.
- Oh, and nothing specifically to act on here, just FYI: Tony Blair doesn’t think it’s necessary to give up bangers and mash to save the planet.
