Breaking: Rats Found in Gobo

In their continuing "Rat Patrol" series, the soft news vigilantes at Inside Edition aired a piece showing cute little rodents running around "trendy vegetarian restaurant" Gobo (the one in the Village, not the UES, natch). They even went the extra journalistic mile and filmed the rat droppings. Hey, it's vegan-friendly, right?

Oh, dear. I wonder how a vegetarian (vegan? never been there) restaurant goes about getting rid of rats quickly enough to not lose their shirt.

Are rats and rat droppings really all that dangerous? I know of a few people who live with pet rats and they seem pretty healthy. Also, I had "free range" hamsters throughout most of my life (until about 3 years ago) and I don't think they compromised my health so much as my personal bad habits did. Why are rodents getting such a bad rap? They deserve good vegan food too. Laws against rats are bunk!
