The way we were: Buster & Tiny
Help raise funds for animal rescue org cum T-shirt shop Social Tees tonight. It’s where I got my furry munchkins!
Six years ago, I went to ST with the intention of fostering a dog for the weekend (I have off-the-charts cat allergies and was working insane hours, so I couldn’t have a dog full-time). But when I got there, Robert, the owner, begged me to take home this tiny kitten. The little guy, who was about two weeks old, had been stepped on and stuffed in a trash can, and he was now residing in a shoe box. All I had to do was feed him with an eyedropper every couple of hours and drop him at the vet’s on Monday. Yeah, right….
After nursing the teeny fuzzball for a couple of days, there was no way he was going anywhere but home with me after his trip to the vet’s office. So I officially adopted Tiny (who would later grow to close to 20 pounds and be redubbed Mr. T) and got myself a prescription for Zyrtec. I went back a month later and brought home Buster, the evil genius, to keep him company. The rest is happy history.
So go to the No Malice Palace at 197 E. 3rd St. tonight at 7:30 and help Robert save the city’s animals by making a donation. There will be a raffle and a silent auction and lots of fun folks to chat with. For more information, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
