Horse Slaughter? Lemme check. No, still not cool.

Willie Nelson: Friend of Horses.

Willie Nelson: Friend of Horses.

The American Horse Slaughter Prevention Act (H.R. 503) will come up for a vote in the U.S. House of Representatives by this Friday (June 30). If passed, the Act will end the slaughter of horses for human consumption and the domestic and international transport of live horses or horseflesh for the same purpose. Temporary bans against horse slaughter have been won in the past, but this act could make the practice illegal forever.

Think no one eats horses? Last year more than 90,000 horses were slaughtered in the three foreign-owned horse slaughter facilities located in Texas and Illinois. Just think of the number of horses that would be protected over the years by this permanent ban.

Please contact your Representative in Congress now.
