Ingrid Newkirk the self-described “press slut” of PETA is an animal rights firebrand; causing people on all sides of the AR equation to both applaud and condemn her pontifications. While many have commended her (certainly the vast amount of PETA members is a testament to the claim) some have labeled her tactics as sexist, misguided and ultimately ineffective.
Today’s Mother Jones Podcast finds Ms. Newkirk in usual form, discussing everything from her squabble with feminists, her work with Christian organizations, the new film Beverly Hill’s Chihuahua and her new book: One Can Make A Difference.
