Mary Horaist lost her dog to Hurricane Katrina.
On Sunday night, a brass band played, people and animals marched, and a memorial service was held at
St. Anna’s Episcopal Church in honor of the pets who were lost in Hurricane Katrina.
While there was sadness, with remembrances of companions lost or left behind, there was celebration, too. Said the church’s Rev. Bill Terry, “We’re New Orleans. This is how we mourn.”
