Venn Diagram of Ecofeminism
Folks who missed the release party held back in February for ecofeminist foremother Dr. Marti Kheel’s recent book, Nature Ethics, will be happy to know they’ll have another chance to catch her lecturing in NYC again on May 8th. This time around, Kheel will present an introduction to ecofeminism, discussing the connection between the feminist agenda, animal advocacy, and environmentalism.
The lecture is hosted by Paradigm Shift, the local feminist organization that bought Brooklyn its own version of Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival, and will be followed by an open mic (bring something good!) and socializing over free wine.
Thursday, May 8th. 7-10pm. $5 in advance; $8 same day. Think Coffee, 248 Mercer Street, New York, NY. 6 to Bleeker; F,B,V,D to Broadway-Lafayette.

on #Recently I wrote a blog entry offering a leftist critique of the ideology of ?Green? environmentalism, deep ecology, animal rights activism, eco-feminism, and lifestyle politics in general (veganism, ?dumpster diving,? ?buying organic,? etc.). I?d be interested to hear your thoughts on the matter and any responses you might have to its criticisms.
