Peter Young in Brooklyn on Monday

Activist Peter Young will be speaking at Brooklyn Law School on Monday, October 22nd. Peter was recently released from federal prison where he was serving time for freeing thousands of mink and foxes from fur farms. He’s one of those ridiculously brave people out there getting in trouble so you and I can sit comfortably at home chugging tater tots and watching TV. The event runs from 5-8pm and also includes a screening of the documentary Behind the Mask, about the Animal Liberation Front.

Brooklyn Law School is right in downtown Brooklyn at 250 Joralemon Street; super easy to get to. Full details on the event are here. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. The money goes to Peter himself (and if he wants to spend it all on porn and Yellow Swarm, that’s his business). There will be free vegan food, and a raffle for a pre-release copy of the Veganomicon. And remember, even if you don’t entirely support Peter’s actions or the ALF (and I know some of you don’t) there’s no harm in learning more about them.

I think it’s really early, too, but we had to deal with a variety of schedules to get the room at that time. Please come whenever you can. Plenty of people will be walking in late.

The vegan cheese pizza will be from Park Slope’s Pizza Plus, the best damn vegan slice I have ever known.

Movie first. Peter second. To make sure you don’t miss any of Peter’s talk, you should show up by 6:15pm.
