Prom, Parade, Black Tie Gala … It’s a Big Weekend for All You Showy NYC Vegans!

Do you like partying with other vegans and playing fancy dress and shouting in the street about how vegan you are? This is your weekend!

Kick things off Friday (May 13) night with the Veggie Prom at Public Assembly (in Williamsburg, where Galapagos used to be). There will be a dance-off, King and Queen elections, “super cheesy” photo backdrops, vegan white russians, the works. And you don’t even need to bring a date! Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 at the door.

Saturday (May 14) night, the generous-of-pocket (or just well-connected) and haughty-of-wardrobe will be at Cipriani Wall Street for the Farm Sanctuary 25th Anniversary Gala. Tickets for the black-tie event start at $350. But even if that’s out of range for you, consider donating something to Farm Sanctuary in celebration of their 25 amazing years of lifesaving animal advocacy.

Sunday (May 15) brings us the fourth annual Veggie Pride Parade. March and chant your way from the Meat Packing District to Union Square, and stick around for the costume contest which features some enviable prizes!

Have fun! Don’t forget to drink enough water along with your alcohol as you party the nights away, and if you go to the parade, remember to keep your liquor in a brown bag and slather on plenty of sunscreen.
