Rally for Whole Earth Bakery: Saturday, February 3, 2 PM

Whole Earth Bakery is scheduled to close March 31 (mentioned previously on SuperVegan here, here and here) and the League of Humane Voters, is taking it to the streets: Join Peter Silvestri and other community activists and elected officials on February 3 at 2 PM in Tompkins Square Park. Hot food and drinks will be served! Please RSVP to info@humanenyc.org or call the League at (212) 889–0303. In case of snow or rain call the League or the bakery at (212) 677–7597.

Volunteers for the day of the parade are needed. Please contact John if you can help.

I didn’t attend the demo but I was walking around Astor Place on Saturday (feb 3) afternoon and I happened upon Rev. Billy and his corregation protesting Starbucks. Rev. Billy was charismatic enough to make me forget about how cold I was. His tactics are great! Sadly, the police arrested him after he and his group marched into the Astor Place SB…make that one of the Astor Place starbucks. How was the WEB demo?
