This week’s “Vegetarians are people too?!” lifestyle trend piece comes to you from The Sacramento Bee, and it’s a rather flattering one. The Bee profiles two vegetarian women, one of whom is happily married to an omni husband and has a young daughter (a la Newsweek). The article is rather wide-eyed and naive, focusing on health issues and how to eat veg in restaurants; the sidebar describing the shades of veg* is particularly amusing. But the piece does include four recipes, one of which is an especially tasty-sounding vegan carrot cake–and it’s trans-fat-free if you use Earth Balance margarine.
