Satya Magazine Presents: An Evening for the Dogs

The folks at Satya magazine are presenting yet another event this month. Saturday evening the magazine will host a reading and discussion of The Dogs Who Found Me: What I’ve Learned from Pets Who Were Left Behind at the LES indie bookshop Bluestockings. Author Ken Foster will be present, as will be local animal rescuer Robert Shapiro of Social Tees, who will talk about fostering and adopting animals in the city.

The event will be followed by an afterparty featuring dog themed treats at the nearby Moo Shoes. If you can’t make it to the party try to stop by Moo Shoes at some point on Saturday anyway because 10 percent of all sales will benefit Social Tees. You can also check out an interview with Ken Foster in last month’s issue of Satya.

Saturday, September 16. 7pm. Free. Bluestockings, 172 Allen St. (at Stanton St.). Moo Shoes, 152 Allen St. (at Rivington St.). F to 2nd Avenue.

This was great! Satya knows how to throw an event. I loved Mo’s bone shaped cookies. They were hilarious and tasy! At first, everyone was afraid to eat them cuz they thought they were for dogs. Heh heh!
