In an effort to encourage seasonal eating and home cooking, The V-Spot, Park Slope’s only all vegan cafe is hosting “The Great Squash Cook-off”. Amateur chefs from Brooklyn and beyond are invited to compete for a grand prize package of $200, dinner for six at The V-Spot, and the chance to have their dish featured on the restaurant menu. The winners will also have the satisfaction of knowing that they have made something sensational out of what is possibly the most boring vegetable to ever take root in New York.
All entrants must register by Thursday (January 18). The contest will be held on Sunday, February 4 from 3:30pm-6:30pm at the restaurant.

on #Oh please, please post the winning recipes. I have more than a few squash in my pantry at the moment.

on #I’d prefer more Olivia Lane blog posts to squash recipes myself, but I guess a 2-in-1 would be good, also.

on #I’m totes entering. This sorta fulfills my secret fantasy of telling chefs how I would fix certain dishes that aren’t quite working.
