Supplement Surprise

Take the red pill…

Disease has a way of concentrating the mind. Apparently, the long-time complaints that vegans have had about animal products in their supplements may be answered by the fact that BSE and avian flu are causing some nutritional companies to remove animal products from their supplements and miraculously discover vegetarian ingredients that they were either too lazy, cheap, or indifferent to to put in before.

However, before you get all excited, according to, Lukas Christian of DSM Nutritional Products says that he believes “the demand for non-animal ingredients stems not so much from growing numbers of traditional vegetarians, but from people who are concerned about diseases in certain animal species.”
