Not a vegan belly
Research published in the journal Nutrition Reviews offers the latest proof that we vegans are thinner than the meat and dairy indulging population. A scientific review of data from 87 earlier studies shows that by switching to a low-fat vegan diet can lead to weight loss of a pound a week even if a person doesn’t change his or her exercise or begin to count calories. Dieticians believe a vegan diet increases sensitivity to insulin, allowing nutrients to more rapidly enter the cells of the body to be converted to heat rather than to fat. Basically, vegans are metabolic Road Runners.
