on #What a great event! Unfortunately, I got there too late for the Lion dancing, but the food was still flowing. Among the yummy offerings were spring rolls and vegetarian beef with broccoli at House of Vegetarian, potato balls and banana fritters at Vegetarian Dim Sum House, and lamb kebabs and green tea coconut sticky buns at Buddha Bodai. The biggest surprise (and treat) was from a nonveg restaurant, Fong Inn Too, at 83 Mott St.: soy custard. WOW! This light, not quite spongey, slightly bready pudding was just sweet enough to satisfy and light enough to make you want more. The portion was huge, but I shared it with a bunch of friends later. Now I’m dreaming about going back to get some more!
