Celebration FOR the Turkeys is part of Farm Sanctuary’s Adopt-A-Turkey Project.
- Brooklyn Vegetarian Restaurant Week continues. We’re particularly excited about Red Bamboo Brooklyn‘s $19.95 pre-fixe dinner, available until Saturday October 27.
- These Halloween events all benefit animal advocacy organizations.
- Thursday November 1 is World Vegan Day. Events are happening around the world.
- On Saturday November 10, the League of Humane Voters of New York City (LOHV-NYC) celebrates their sixth anniversary at Jivamukti Yoga Center. Celebrity guests include “Golden Girls” star Rue McClanahan, artist Peter Max, recording artist Nellie McKay, soap star Grant Aleksander, and comedian Dan Piraro. Best of all, they’ll have complimentary vegan hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar featuring organic wines and beers, and–just announced!–Soy Delicious Ice Cream. It costs a minimum of $50 ($35 for students); get tickets here.
- The American Vegan Society will be celebrating World Vegan Month on Saturday November 17 2007 from 1pm – 4pm at Candle 79. They’ve got speakers, poets, musicians, and fancy gourmet food… hopefully enough to justify the $85 cost ($50 for students).
- This weekend is your last chance of the year to visit Woodstock Farm Animal Sanctuary… unless you’re going to their Thanksliving Dinner on Sunday November 18th.
- Farm Santuary will hold a Celebration FOR the Turkeys on Saturday November 17th in New York and California.
- Say, what are you doing for Thanksgiving? We’ll have more info on vegan Thanksgiving events as the day approaches; meanwhile, check out these nifty “Gentle Thanksgiving” postcards from FARM USA.
