Vegan Drinks NYC is Thursday, December 30th!
Enjoy the second to last evening of 2010 with us at Vegan Drinks NYC while sipping spiked vegan soy nog ($4!), nibbling on vegan bar snacks and benefiting the Food Empowerment Project! And bring some pet supplies to donate for the animals spending the holidays at the city shelter. The fun will happen from 7pm to 9pm on Thursday, December 30th at Angels & Kings Bar in the East Village.
The food line-up for this month includes a vegan burger deluxe platter (with or without vegan cheese + fries and coleslaw), crispy vegan chikkin’ tenders, Pittsburgh-style coleslaw, fries, hummus & pita, and good ol’ chips & salsa or guacamole.
Each purchase you make will benefit the Food Empowerment Project (FEP). We will donate a percentage of all sales to FEP, which works to end environmental racism and bolster the rights of workers and animals. FEP encourages healthy food choices that reflect a more compassionate society by spotlighting the abuse of animals on farms, the depletion of natural resources, unfair working conditions for produce workers, and the unavailability of healthy foods in low-income areas.
Don’t forget to bring us your blankets and towels, cat litter, hard rubber dog toys, cat toys, pet beds, and so on and so forth! We’ll be collecting items for Animal Care and Control’s Holiday Pet Supply Drive.
As always, the drinks are easy on the wallet: $2 off everything until 8pm and then it’s $1 off draft beers and well drinks from 8pm to 9pm. Folks who don’t drink alcohol are much beloved and also quite welcome, but you do have to be 21 to get in. Sorry, kiddos born after December 30, 1989.
Have you read the new and improved Vegan Drinks FAQ? It’s made all the Top Ten lists this year. Read it.
We’ll turn down the music around 8:15pm and encourage people to promote themselves, their groups and/or causes for 30 seconds. If you represent a veg*n or animal rights group, come prepared with your (very short!) spiel and literature.
