Yes, VeganTreats mini-cakes will be there! Don’t miss this Sat 1/23′s Mercy For Animals Celebrating Compassion gala!
The main reason you should be getting your tickets right now to this Saturday, January 23rd’s Mercy for Animals Celebrating Compassion gala is of course to support the grassroots group’s amazing work on behalf of animals. But another great reason is the gala’s exciting and mouth-watering menu featuring vegan foodie heavyweights like Match premium meat alternatives, VeganTreats pastries, Daiya cheese, So Delicious ice creams, and Frey Vineyards organic wines!
A few exciting highlights: chicken vol au vent, crab thermidor, and chicken-stuffed zucchini using Match and a baked lasagna with Match Italian sausage and Daiya cheese. (Yes, there are options for you silly folks who don’t do fake meats too!) Catered by the Queens-based, all-vegetarian company Natural Delights, the gala will use local produce, 80 percent organic ingredients, and fresh herbs. Check out the full-menu after the jump.

on #I was really looking forward to attending this event, but I must say that I’m actually deeply disappointed by the lack of raw food options.
Both myself and the International Director of Food for Life Global (http://ffl.org) are both 100% level raw food vegans and were very eager to see what sort of uncooked menu items would be available to people like us.
I have also been trying to convince some of my Lorax team members to attend, which may prove to be difficult since the majority of them are also raw foodists.
In fact, I know a great many others who would be very interested in supporting MFA by attending this event, but would prefer to adhere to a mostly raw diet and may be inclined to skip going in order to avoid cooked food temptation…
Any possibility for some last minute additions for “special” vegans?

on #I only eat sugar cereal with almond milk. Where are my options?!!??!!
Too bad I’m banned from attending because of my diet.

on #I think you meant “level 5″ not “100% level raw”

on #Did anyone go? How was the event?

on #Yeah, what Jason said. I’m sick of seeing pictures of people in their suits and pretty dresses on Facebook. I need FOOD pictures and their accompanying narratives.

on #A little off topic, okay, a lot.
I thought everyone would like to know that a PETA protester in Canada slapped a tofu pie in the face of our Fisheries Minister today.
This was to protest Canadian seal hunting/slaughter.
