Vegan Treats Exposed!

With the amount of Vegan Treats that we as New York City vegans consume, one would not be ridiculed for thinking that the VT bakery is located in one of the boroughs – it’s not; Vegan Treats resides in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Tomorrow, Exposed, an entertainment weekly distributed by the The Express Times (out of the Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley) will feature Danielle Konya, the vegan baking superstar and hopefully give us some low down on what makes Vegan Treats such a treat!

From the look of the website, Exposed is available in a digital format. So, stay tuned and check it out tomorrow for the lowdown.

And, if you have yet to try the scrumptiousness that is Vegan Treats then I suggest you get on the bandwagon because, it’s one sweet ride!

UPDATE: You can now read the article online. Be sure and leave your thoughts in the comments section.

I’m a HUGE fan of Vegan Treats and I thought this article was fantastic! I became vegan in 2003 and have been ridiculed by family members ever since (of course, they think chocolate isn’t vegan without realizing it’s the added milk in “milk chocolate” that de-veganizes it). The laughter stopped, though, when they tried Vegan Treats cake a few weeks ago! They are now as addicted to it as I am.

I love Vegan Treats, I think that while variety is nice, no one else even holds a candle to VT’s deserts – the retail store has a HUGE selection and variety and after almost 10 years of eating Vegan Treats I can still find something delicious and new and exciting!

I’m not a huge fan either. I appreciate that VT exists, but they are just too sugary for my taste. It bums me out that so many restaurants carry them instead of coming up with their own dessert creations. There is so much room for some other points of view.

I love vegan treats – just not all the time. They do a great job of defying the usual conventions attributed to vegan desserts and they have a huge variety – so, I must give them their due props. I think the uniformity in taste of many of their desserts is to their detriment but, damn it, if the Jelly Donut doesn’t send my heart a flutter.

With that said, I too wish that there was more variety in NYC (hence the opening of the piece). Only time will tell…

Vegan Treats = incredible. Every single thing is delicious & she keeps coming out with new ones (check out the chocolate covered donut reminiscent of Entenmann’s). VT rules.
