Hot Vegan Treats food porn: Death by Chocolate.
Oh! Danielle Konya’s Vegan Treats cakes: the lifeblood of sugar-charged vegans all over the tri-state area. Now there are a few new places in Manhattan and Brooklyn I can take omni friends for a slice of German Chocolate when they’re bitching at me about “rabbit food” and “personal choices” – and then, the big reveal!
Tips: Deliveries are usually made on Tuesdays, so keep it in mind when seeking a fresh slice. And prices and serving sizes vary widely between locations – I believe Atlas cuts the most sugar for your buck. Of course, if you’re feeling up to traveling more than a subway ride for a fix, you can always order a little something special from Danielle Konya direct and pick it up at the Vegan Treats bakery in Bethlehem, PA. And while you’re there you might as well pick up some of her new donuts, too.
Update, April 2009: The most up-to-date list of places that carry Vegan Treats is Vegan Treats’s own map/list.

on #Also the Green Bean cafe on York Ave between 75th and 76th street has a few of the cakes and cupcakes. Just don’t eat from their sandwiches etc. in the fridge as most are stale.

on #Sorry, but can someone please replace that horrendous photo of one of VT’s best cakes? Every single one of Danielle’s creations are picture perfect & that photo makes it look like she leaves them sitting out in the sun. The pic doesn’t even begin to do justice to her beautiful & delicious creations. Actually, it looks like I tried to duplicate her cake at home and failed miserably.

on #I just received an e-mail from Vegan Treats in response to a question I sent to them about their baked items. They contain HYDROGENATED OIL. According to the CDC this is more damaging to the heart than butter fat. As far as I can determine this information is not posted anywhere on their web-site.

on #I need support finding vegan stores, markets, etc that will accept a check for a food order and send the food to my Vegan son who is incarcerated. Thank you.

on #Oh Steve, I was afraid these cakes contained hydrogenated oil. How horrible, I just e-mailed the company myself to check for sure. I hope you are wrong, but I have a feeling you’re not.

on #I just heard back from Vegan Treats, they do use hydrogenated oil. These desserts are making people sick. What a shame. I would never again eat these or feed them to my kids!
