Viva!USA‘s campaign to get duck feathers out of the pillows in Pier 1 Imports has paid off. A call to Pier 1′s customer service line this afternoon confirmed that the home furnishings store stopped purchasing down on October 28, 2005 and the stores are now carrying new pillows that are filled with fiber alternatives. (There are, however, some clearance pillows currently online that have feather filling, so be mindful when shopping.)
