The UK has a weird old law that only the monarch is allowed to eat swan meat. Even those of us who think eating any meat is a bad idea can probably agree that this is at best a silly regulation.

Artist Mark McGowan, who claims to be a vegetarian of 12 years, decided to Freegans.) But this also made the protest semi-moot – eating an already dead swan found by other people apparently doesn’t quite violate the law.

   This does nothing but demonstrate that vegetarians, and perhaps vegans by mere association, will easily and willingly compromise their ethical and moral values, showing omnis that being vegetarian means nothing. This is how McGowan represents all vegetarians to the public who don’t understand that real vegetarians don’t eat meat!!! He’s done nothing at all to help the swans, any other animals, or the animal liberation movement. What a disgusting way to protest nothing.

   Yes, how pointless. Don’t these people think about the ramifications of their idiotic actions? It makes me wonder what percentage of vegetarian/vegans are in it for ethical reasons.
