Attention foodies: vegan amateur cooking competition Veggie Conquest is back for a fourth run! VC will be enrolling contestants and tasters starting at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, March 23 for the next challenge, Sunday, April 25, at 5 p.m. at Green Spaces in Chinatown. If you’ve been before, you know tickets run out fast, so grab ‘em while you can.
If you haven’t been, here’s how it works (and here‘s what went down last time): Contestants prepare a vegan dish at home featuring a secret ingredient Veggie Conquest will announce a week before the contest. At the challenge, a panel of three judges and dozens of tasters decide who wins the prize for the top dish.
Joshua Katcher will emcee April’s competition while music mistress
Lil Ray DJs. MATCH meats is sponsoring, and their mock meats will be available for tasting. Says organizer Jessica Mahady on the VC blog: “With MATCH’s sponsorship…we will give all competing chefs $25 when they show up at VC with their competing dish. This will encourage chefs to take risks and splurge even more on fantastic ingredients!”
So grab your aprons and your appetites, and get excited for the next culinary smackdown!
