Walk for Farm Animals

It costs $10 to register, but you get a T-shirt designed by Berke Breathed. (I guess Dan Piraro was busy.)

The 2007 New York City Walk for Farm Animals is on Sunday, October 14, 2007 (walks in other places may be on different dates) and starts at Columbus Circle.

It’s a walk-a-thon, so you need to get sponors. All the money you raise will go to support The Farm Sanctuary. If you raise enough money, you get extra prizes. But that’s not the point. Raise money to help the animals!

I know what you’re thinking: “I’m vegan. What do farm animals have to do with me? So not my problem!” Fair enough, but they will have free food from such places as Babycakes, Candle 79, The Groovy Baker, Viva Pizza, Red Bamboo, Franchia, Little Lad’s Basket, Curly’s, Caravan of Dreams, and Pure Food & Wine!

In addition to food, there will be all sorts of fun fair amusements and famous people–some vegans you may have heard of including Gene Baur, Pattrice Jones, and Isa Chandra Moskowitz, plus Ally Sheedy will be there; you know how awesome War Games was.

Forget War Games; she was the coolest one in The Breakfast Club! (And that damn Molly Ringwald made her take her badass eye makeup off. *grumbles*)
