| Anybody out there know of a vegan replacement for Bailey's? I used to love Bailey's in my coffee, and have tried kahlua and all kinds of soy and hemp milks, but none have the same taste 'body' as Bailey's. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. |

I used to love that in my coffee too-not Kahlua-yuk! I remember when New York used to have nice little coffee houses (Pre-Starbucks of course) that used to have irish cream flavoured syrups-I don't know where they got them from or who was the manufacturer. I just enjoy whiskey and ameretto in my coffee now, oh well. Let us know if find something though |

Wait-Stop-Hold the Presses-This sounds like it might work:

Better than Bailey's Irish Cream
Category: Beverages/Smoothies
Suitable for a: vegan diet
Ingredients:
------------------------------------------------------
1 can coconut milk
2 tbs brown sugar
2 tbs chocolate syrup
2 tsp vanilla extract
3/4 cup whisky (or to taste!) I suggest Jameson's.
Instructions:
------------------------------------------------------
Combine all ingredients thoroughly using a whisk, but do not froth. Keep
refrigerated, preferably in a dark bottle. Old 'Bailey's' bottles are ideal!
Note:
If your coconut has separated into solid and liquid, be sure to mix or blend thoroughly first into a completely smooth liquid with no lumps. |

Thanks so much! There are a few of us out there; I could never understand how a vet could ethically eat animals either. I have a T-shirt that says
"Vegetarian Veterinarian- because good doctors don't eat their patients"
Thanks again for the shout out from down under.
G'day!! |
