Save the date! Peace Food Cafe Vegan restaurant set to open May 20th, 2009. Says owner Eric Yu. There are lots of yummy choices w/Asian influences. Wonderful soups, and sandwiches. Eric has worked in the restaurant industry for many yrs. and most recently at a Juice Bar in Brooklyn, NY. Eric is also a well connected antiques dealer, so the cafe will be filled with interesting pieces!
Eric is excited to be able to offer creative delicious vegan recipes to the vegan community. The restaurant will be situated on 82nd Street and Amsterdam. Specific dishes, juices, etc. will follow soon at future blogs! |

| Everyone there is super nice. I recommend the chocolate chip cookies, savory biscuits, chocolate-covered cupcakes, sandwiches, dumplings, and soy nuggets. The green lemonade is great, too! Everything tastes good, and the portions are perfect. |

This place has some great potential and I really want it to succeed and I frequent it often.
However, some baffling mistakes keep cropping up: a quinoa salad with so many chopped, raw white onions (does anyone like raw white onions??) and hard, partially cooked white beans; the same salad on another day as take out with so much dressing that it was literally half soup; and a staff that is kind, however, a good number of them are spacey and inexperienced. |
