  2. Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale Time!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Worldwide Vegan Bake Sale time! Over 100 vegan bake sales will be held globally from April 20-28, 2013.

There are quite a few bake sales scheduled in NYC that week, including one on April 28, hosted by the always wonderful folks at MooShoes. The sale will raise money for Food Not Bombs NYC, who recover and share free vegan food with the public without restriction every Sunday in Tompkins Square Park to protest war, poverty and the destruction of the environment.

    Delicious goodies await

MooShoes will be full of all things yummy as well as information on how you can get involved with FNB.

Bakers and volunteers are still needed for this event, so please sign up!

And don’t forget to bring a bag or container to take your purchases home in (or a utensil to eat with there) to cut back on waste!

Screen Shot 2013-03-20 at 10.13.07 AMHow does a week long retreat in a beautiful camp location one hour outside of Boston sound? Where all the food is vegan, organic, and local (to the “greatest extent possible”). Where all the people care about community service, activism and social justice. Where those people and that food can come together, have fun, build life-long friendships and leave transformed. I wanna go!

Well too bad for us, Youth Empowered Action Camp is only for 12-17 year-olds!

But if you have a kid, they could go: Continue Reading…
