- I remember Dojo when they occupied only one of their two storefronts; before that (before my time) I'm told they started out as an ice-cream stand that served flavors like "Acapulco Gold" and "Panama Red."
Now they're a neighborhood institution; my roommate is a regular (I mean five-days-a-week regular) for their breakfast special, which is a true loss-leader at $1.99.
I know I can always get a $5 lunch there, and I like their pita sandwiches, particularly the hijiki-tofu burger (you can also order it as a dinner) and the Dojo Dip which has a thick slice of avocado in it.
Oh, and did you know Gillian Anderson (of the X-Files) waitressed here for a short while? I guess everyone did.
