  • Really friendly service, healthy and absolutely delicious food, convenient location (except it's too cold to sit and eat in the park in winter). I've had the risotto roll thing...don't remember exactly what it was called but it's fantastic!!!
I wish they were there every day.

  • Like everything I've ever gotten from this stand: turnovers, loaves, muffins, scones...very high quality, diverse and tasty. I think everyone should definately try them-worth it. Great customer service too.

  • Body & Soul's savory treats (the turnovers and wraps) are wonderfully good and surprisingly sophisticated. each is packed with a vast spectrum of herbs, spices, and texture--piquant, delicate, and well balanced. every time i get one, i'm shocked that what i'm eating came from a cart. they really are unlike anything else--and are in a far superior league than the premade vegan fare you'll find in health-food store fridges. it's all quite fresh, too.

Don't judge them by their cookies (not so exciting), go for the savories: at $4.50 a pop, these dense packages of joy are a rare bargain.

  • Yummy healthy baked goods.... their brownies are okay, but this works best for their muffins. They are healthy and fresh tasting while still being sweet enough. Really good for breakfast!!

  • I find their food to be a bit boring/bland, but overall it's fresh and satisfying. I particularly like the sol-rolls (saffron potato is great). If you're in the Union Square area this is a great lunch choice.

Their baked goods are a bit on the "healthy" side. Good but not the greatest. (It could be that I'm spoiled by Vegan Treats.)

The guy who runs it has always been polite to me, and the service has been quick.

  • Body and Soul is totally wonderful; whenever I'm around Union Square on the days they're there, I look for them. If nothing else, I buy a "dense but radiant muffin," preferably chocolate. Their Fig-Almond cookie is like nothing else in the world. Oh, and around Thanksgiving they sell special holiday pies. On a whim I bought the pumpkin pie last November; in the future, I'll be sure to seek it out. It is the best pumpkin pie I've ever had - even down to the crust. (Many vegan pies tend to have cardboardy crust.)

Their Sol-Rolls and turnovers are all excellent and are a meal in themselves; they also sell these through certain health food stores, such as Urban Roots on Avenue A. When I've had jobs near Union Square, they're the place I go for lunch on Monday and Friday.

Oh, and Body and Soul is community-oriented; they often donate food to community groups like MoreGardens! Way to go, Body and Soul!
