- They explicitly state which dishes are vegan on the menu, but there are only 4 options. The rice has butter (probably ghee) in it--waiter explained this was 'standard practice' so that the rice didn't stick together. The food we ordered--chana masala and tofu/veggie kebabs--was good, but I wouldn't go back since, 1) it's in the east village with a million better vegan options, and 2) for Indian I would much rather go to Madras Mahal, which is all vegetarian and clearly marks vegan, or the dosa cart.

- Went here for Thanksgiving with my non-vegan family and everyone was happy. According to the server, while the naan is not vegan, the roti is. The roti is also really yummy, thinner, seemingly whole wheat, and delicious with the vegan chana masala. Food here comes super spicy, which was great for me and mine, but beware if you're not a fan of heat.

- this place is wonderful but BEWARE - they make their rice with milk!!! is this a regular practice? the well-informed server told me this!
