Review by frank language on August 8, 2006:
- Two Boots has great pizza and better-than-average vegan options. I like that I'm able to go into any of their locations and grab a slice of their Mrs. Peel (garden vegetables on a round sicilian garnished with bread crumbs), the Earth Mother (five from the garden), or The Red (red pie, spicy sauce).
That said, I wish they'd put some casein-free soy cheese on one or two pies - or even just on special-order whole pies. Sure, I can see it leading to confusion and requiring special training and re-training of workers at Two Boots. But, damn! "Follow Your Heart" mozzarella would be so great on pizza, and I'd love to have some omnivores find out - maybe by accident - that it's not too bad a cheese in its own right.
I've been going to the original location for years and years, and have found the others to be consistently great; it's really the only pizzeria out there where I can just "grab a slice" - one of the simple pleasures in life it's easy to take for granted.
They also have "Fizzy Lizzy," a natural soft drink made with fruit juice, in addition to your usual Coke-Sprite-Diet Coke. Accessible, with restrooms (for customers only).
