  • Today I wanted food around 10:30am - almost no place was serving yet in the Union Square area (other than chains) so I tried Jivamukti. While pricey ($13 for a sandwich), I must say that the BLT was one of the most delicious things I've had in a long, long time!

Nice light in the dining area and a comfortable place to relax, read, and eat.

  • Stopped by here on my way to visit a friend at Union Square. The service isn't as bad as others would have you believe on here though it's not great by any means. It's part of a yoga studio so the atmosphere isn't your typical place to eat with most people being very quite. The food was the most disappointing part of it. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great either. Very bland and less than average. Fine for a quick meal but don't go out of your way to eat here or bring any non-vegans.

  • amazing gluten free vanilla cupcakes! salads & chakra smoothies very good. no to go containers for meals, though. yogi nature atmosphere. cafe a little hard to fine but worth the treck upstairs. cool shop on the way out, too.
in terms of service, however, the waitress forgot about my smoothie.

  • Just wanted to add that they've really expanded their menu recently. The tempeh BLT is amazing and their cakes/cupcakes rival any of the best in NYC. It's not ridiculously cheap but it's worth it, especially if you're in Union Square. This is a place that a lot of people could pass by since it's on the second floor of a building and in a yoga studio, but it has great vegan food and really shouldn't be missed!

  • I've eaten here a few times and each time it's sooo good. The grilled vegetable panino and the grilled portabella panino were fabulous and they give you a nice little side salad to go with it. The only smoothie I've gotten so far was the "Voice" and it seemed weird at first but then it grew on me. I also had a bagel and tofu cream cheese there which was awesome! The service might be slow but it's never too too bad, and they are always very friendly. Overall, highly recommended!

  • Jivamukti cafe is magically delicious! It's a tea and coffee/espresso cafe but they also have sandwiches, soups, salads, smoothies, baked goods, and that ubiquitous 'choose three items and a dressing' plate. They even have a vegan Mad Hatter tea party with a pot of tea and lots of vegan treats. You can't go wrong with the portabello panino, sprout bowl w/mustard vinaigrette, or giant chocolate chip cookie. Bonus: everything is vegan, organic, non-gmo, and sustainable.

  • The Jivamuktea cafe recently reopened under new ownership.
The food is delicious - organic, vegan, and prepared with love.
Try the supergreen salad, mango smoothie, maharini dahl, and everything else. Yummy baked goods.
Great lunch place for those working in the Union Square area - it's hidden on the second floor of 841 Broadway, across the street from the Regal Multiplex.

  • I have eaten at this "cafe" twice and both times I got horrendeously ill. I love the yoga at this center but I would never again eat afterwards if they dont shape up! Watch out for the juice, it was supposed to be "live" but it was just plain rotten, and I had salad that gave me a stomach pain that I doubled over from. The service, cherry on top: absent, or just too zoned out to give a damn. really sad because the space itself is sun-filled and really pretty...
