Vegan pear muffins
Review by beanmail on December 13, 2009:
- So happy to have found this gem only blocks away from all of the chains now surrounding Union Square. I enjoyed soy milk with my coffee, vegan cream cheese on my bagel (terrifically non-doughy), and a yummy chocolate peanut butter cookie for dessert (they also had maple ginger).
Everything I had was great; everything I didn't have looked just as fresh & tasty. This is the kind of place that makes you not mind going to an omni establishment. Items are clearly labelled so that you can order without a battery of questions: vegans and non-vegans ordering effortlessly side by side!
Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. Highly recommend.

- They may not have muffins, but every time I've been there recently (between September last year and now) they have had at least three kinds of vegan cookies (peanut butter chocolate is disgustingly great) and sometimes vegan cakes. Also hey always have vegan cream cheese for bagels and soy milk for coffee. The place is always busy and tables are kind of cramped, but it's still cute and warm. No table service though, and sometimes too loud to hear them call your order.

- Note to users: they no longer sell any vegan muffins :( I was there earlier last year and asked. However, their bagels with tofu cream cheese and the Mediterranean sandwich are pretty decent. They also do soy milk in coffee drinks. A bit pricey, but it's a nice cozy little place and the people are friendly.
