  • It's awesome. I think I just died due to a sugar overdose. That vegan peanut butter bomb, whoa! It's in line with ninamo bars. Be prepared for an intense sugary experience.

  • I'm not a huge fan because I don't like Temptation ice cream, but it is an awesome location (near both Vinnies and the park) and I like getting the penny lick ($1) because you can get a taste without overdoing it. The atmosphere is cute and some of their desserts look great but I haven't gone for their baked goods.

  • I'm just happy that I can walk down the street on a summer day with a double-scoop ice cream cone in my hand. It's just not the same when you do it at your house!

The shop is super-cute if you want to sit down and get that soda fountain vibe, but it is rather small so you may not have the option.

I understand that they're not all vegan, but can someone tell me what they sell that isn't vegetarian? Is it the gummy bears?

  • This place is really sweet! I love the decor. A great date place. It's a bit more spacious than I expected (for New York of course). The people are really nice and how can you really complain about vegan ice cream?

  • i thought i was dreaming! sure, their pastries and ice cream are not made locally and are full of tooth-rotting sugar and make you feel sick. but it's meant to be a treat, not the way to eat every day. the glass cases, mirrors, and red tile walls are pretty classy and reminded me of the ice cream shop in the town i grew up in. i'd go back for a birthday party or a date or something, especially in a sharing of a dessert situation, as the stuff is pretty f'ing sweet. the guy behind the counter was really nice, and they use compostable containers.

  • Disappointingly, the shop was nothing more than a storefront for Vegan Treats goods and Temptation ice cream. Being a vegan consumer advocate, I don't appreciate hack-job openings that exploit the popularity of the vegan market demand... unless they rear a quality product. Among my many complaints about the place, nothing in the place was made on the premises. Nothing is fresh, local or made from a love of food and quality ingredients. Vegan Treats comes from Pennsylvania and is the Hostess of the vegan dessert world. Temptations ice cream hails from Illinois and, despite its many interesting flavors, is very watery and not creamy.

  • Ice cream by an outfit in Chicago. Desserts by an outfit in Pennsylvania. Another New York Original.
The upside is the adorable decor and the super nice server who allowed us to taste the different flavors. I'm happy a vegan friendly place like this exists, I don't understand though, why not go local? There aren't enough vegan pastry chefs in New York? ;)

  • Cute decor and a large selection of Vegan Treats desserts, as well as (I think) 8 flavors of Temptation Ice Cream (not my favorite vegan ice cream; I find it a little too watery and sugary to be really satisfying but I'm still glad it exists). The friendly and attentive service was a nice surprise. A scoop of cookie dough ice cream in a sugar cone was $3.50; all Vegan Treats cakes were $6 a slice, which I think is pretty standard.

  • Staff here is super friendly, prices are a little steep for the sundaes, but brownie and cake slices are very well priced! The display and decor is absolutely fantastic.

We got a banana split, a 2-scoop sugar cone, and a carmel pretzel brownie for $16. Worth it though, yummy!

  • Our server was super forthcoming with info about (and samples of) the vegan offerings of this place. He was also super friendly and helpful in general. I'd go back just for the exceptional service, but this place has even more to offer. I love Temptation Ice Cream. It's the best! I had a sugar cone with cookie dough--a type of ice cream I've detested most of my life--and it was delicious! The server said they will have a wider selection of vegan candy in the future and they seem pretty open to suggestions--so it you have any ideas, drop in and share them. This shop is soooo cute. I want to live here. I live half an hour from here and own an ice cream maker, but I plan to go pretty often this summer.

  • Vegan Treats and Temptations frozen dessert! They also serve organic ice cream in interesting flavors. I wish the soy frozen dessert was housemade, but its nice to get a vegan option when out.
