- Recently this outlet of Blockheads went from crappy vegan soy slices to what looks and tastes like Daiya shredded vegan cheese. It is really good! I asked the shift manager but she didn't know anything about it so I don't have confirmation, but take my word, it totally makes their vegan options rock.

- I work just a few scant blocks from here, and I'm thankful to have the dining option in the land of steak houses. It's not the best Mexican in the world, but the sock-monkey themed decor is always entertaining. The have a back covered patio type area that's nice; I don't have a window at work so I always like the chance for a little sunlight. And if you're the kind of person who would have a drink during the work day, they do have frozen margarita specials - of course I would never do a thing like that.
A word of warning on the lunchtime meal though: the place gets jam-packed. Sometimes it can take a while to get your food, and to get your check. If you're in a hurry (like, say, to get back to work because you have one of those bosses that gets angry if you're a minute late coming back from lunch), it might not be the best choice.
I really appreciate the fact that Blockheads offers entrees that contain tofu. I can get a tofu burrito, and it'll even come with a side of vegan sour cream! It's a real rarity for the neighborhood. Could their food be better? Yeah, probably. Do I wish they had mission style burritos? Yes I do. But in midtown beggars can't be choosers, and I'm glad that when the work peeps want to go out to lunch I can suggest Blockheads - a place where the whole crew can have a satisfying meal, including me!

- A fun option in Midtown East when you're craving a huge honkin' burrito, good chips and salsa, and stiff margs. Always a friendly waitstaff experience and a good deal during lunch hours.

- Blockheads is great but last time I was at this location they told me they had stopped carrying vegan soy cheese about a month before. They still have the other vegan options. If you go, make sure to leave a comment card asking them to bring back the soy cheese (if they haven't already).
