I love Ethiopian food. I often can eat it 2 or more times a week. This is my version of comfort food.
I'd been to the Ghenet in Manhattan and was very unimpressed. I didn't care for the food nor the service. But then I stumbled across this gym in Brooklyn on Saturday, hungry and open to give Ghenet a second try.
I'm so glad I did. The food was amazing. They had more veg options that most places and my favourites, shiro and aterkik alecha were delicious. The service was so-so but the ambiance was beautiful. Very chill, very inviting and very comfortable. My friends and I stayed for a while eating, drinking and laughing - something cramped Manhattan spots make uninviting. I will def go back here again.
