  • I went here for brunch- here are barely ANY vegan brunch options. I ended up having the Vegan BLT not horrible but not great. I got a fruit salad which consisted of two fruits- pineapple and melon. They were sliced into tiny bits in a bowl smaller than my coffee cup. Not ok. They were out of the vegan hot chocolate and I over heard them telling other customers that they were out of other things as well.

Should have gone to Brooklyn to Bliss or Sīnice.

  • I walked past last weekend - they're closed due to a fire. Apparently, they're hoping to reopen as soon as possible, and I hope they do. I loved going for a pot of tea and relaxing with a book. It's definitely a "teany" place, but I've always seemed to be able to get a table when I wanted one...even when coming with 5+ person groups.

  • Definitely hit or miss. One day everything is fantastic, the next they are out of most of the things on the menu (it's not an extensive menu; how hard is it to keep stocked?). I once clearly stated that I was waiting for an outdoor table. After an hour she tried to seat me inside. When I pointed out that I'd been standing there WITH MY DOG , she looked at me like she didn't understand- yet wouldn't let me dine inside avec pooch.

  • Shared a couple sandwiches - the turkey club was just alright, but the chicken salad melt on pumpernickel was fabulous. Also had the cider with port: delicious, unique, and a pretty decent value at $8 for a giant cup.

I'd like to return to try the two vegan entrees and maybe some tea. They seemed to have a lot of sweets and cakes and whatnot, but I don't eat that stuff, so it doesn't really factor as a positive for me. All in all, I get the impression that it's a nice, simple cafe sorta place, kinda like 'snice.

  • I've been here a handful of times and have been happy every time.

I really like the staff. I like the tea. THey ice green, black and herbal everyday. That's great. I know its easy to do but... its really nice. I even like the bathroom with its animal sanctuary pics. Its not even like I'm a huge Moby fan, but I gotta hand it to 'im. He done good. Even when it looks like there might be a wait... its never more than 10 minutes.

I think their prices could be a lot worse. I'm a scone freak and they mix it up.

They only accept CASH though. No card. I always seem to forget that.

  • Definitely enough vegan options to satisfy me time and time again. Prices are good, though I don't like that they only accept cash. Luckily, they have an outside ATM next door so I've never had to walk away without getting a bite to eat and a drink of tea. They have the best tea selection ever, with a menu to describe them all. They have an easy to access bathroom, and I love the atmosphere of both the inside and outside (people watching!). Like someone else said, it's in the Lower East Side, home to many fun things to do and see. I love the outdoor space, because I like to bring my dog with me everywhere. They have always been super nice to him, bringing him a bowl of water, etc. Their Teany bagel is awesome, I always end up eating two. Probably my favorite place in New York.

  • I love coming to Teany. The tea is great and a lot of different wine choices compliment whatever it is you are hungry for. I love the "chicken salad" sandwich. I still dream about the carrot cake. Insanely delicious. Such a long list of desserts that we can all eat!!! I love bringing my friends by for a quick lunch- everyone I've brought has enjoyed the food and casually clean atmosphere.

  • The tea is great, of course, but the food is pretty damn good too. I love a good bagel with soy cream cheese, or a white bean soup. Of course Vegan Treats makes dessert at Teany a must.

  • We were able to sit down right away (by chance) but waited for our food and service for a very long time. I wasn't blown away by the food (we had veggie chilli and one of the salads) or by the service. But it is fun to go to Moby's place- the name sells.

  • I love this place, the food is okay, I love the club sandwhich and the very fullfilling peanut butter and chocolate bomb cake. Daily specials with vegan soups, sandwiches and deserts. The wait staff are funky and super friendly, the customers are too. This is not a fancy place, but rather a pit stop that you'll be satisfied with and which you'll want to go back to. They do not pretend to be something other than what they are. In a great area too. Vegan shore store, other vegan/vegetarian resturants/political bookstore. Teany is small (hence Teany!), with a small outside area, sometimes you'll have to wait but it's worth it. Simply fab!
