  • Terri has off the charts AMAZING vegan food! If I could rate it higher than a 5 I would. It seriously deserves a 10 out of 5 or even an 100 out of 5- anything to credit it with the fact that it is truly in a league of its own.

The staff is incredibly personable too! The cashier and I got to talking and when my order came she was worried that she had gotten distracted and typed it in wrong. She immediately took action, went back and double checked because she wanted to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it (of course it was!). Servers in other restaurants I don't think would have given a hoot if I got exactly what I asked for or not. The thoughtfulness of this server and quality of my food made Terri a warm, welcoming, and worthwhile place to eat.

Last but not least, I got the "chicken" quesadilla (with no hot sauce and peppers on the side) and it was delicious, filling, and much more satisfying than a "real" quesadilla. Definitely recommend it.

Truly, Terri not only makes it easy to be a vegan, but also makes it fun!

I'll be back many times to come!!!

  • How disappointing! I had a green juice which tasted awful (they were giving out samples) and one of their sandwiches which was sub par. The bread was warm but the inside of the sandwich was cold and lack luster, and I have no idea what kind of meat substitute they are using. I asked the counter girl a question about an ingredient in one of the smoothies and she didn't know what it was. I went out of my way to go there, but I won't be returning.

  • I recently ate at Terri and it was wonderful. I got the "meatball" sub and the butterfinger shake...it was AWESOME! The service was great and everyone was real friendly. I definitely look forward to eating there again. The only thing you need to know before going is that the place is pretty small...only enough places to sit and eat for about 8-10 people (10 might be pushing it) and they are just stools up against the counters looking out the windows (fun for people watching). Great place to grab something quick or to go. Also, there is no bathroom there. All minor details when you consider how good the food is. The prices look funny but it's so when you pay your bill comes out to a whole dollar amount when you factor in the tax.

  • This place is so cute! It's decorated in pink and purple which are my favorite colors and all of the staff were cute purple shirts with Terri written on them in pink! Besides just the obvious aesthetics, the food is also amazing!! The staff is really knowledgeable and nice to talk to. Great, great lunch spot, or any-time-of-day spot and a great location too!

I've brought all my friends from different backgrounds and food lifestyles, all who LOVE this place! Prices are regular Manhattan but it is right off the F M line on 23rd street!

  • Green power smoothie = heaven in my mouth, plus it's super healthy. I love that this place has really delicious options (calories be damned) as well as healthier picks. Favorite sandwich: buffalo chicken, go try it right now! Also, the owner is kind of a hottie, so it's nice to go in for the eye candy. :-)

  • I work nearby and by now I have tried nearly everything on their menu! EVERYTHING I've ever ordered here has been fantastic. Just today I got delivery and got the meatball sandwich (OH MY GOOOODDDDDD). The Thanksgiving is probably my other favorite. The thai "chicken" wrap was decent, but could have had a bit more flavor. The breakfast wrap was good, but there was way too much tofu scramble (it is huge though so you will be nice and full!). Those are my only complaints. OH, and the chocolate shake is seriously the best vegan chocolate shake I've ever had. Their staff is so sweet too. just go!!!

  • so i reviewed a while back and absolutely loved their sandwiches (especially the meatball one) but today i tried a salad - bad decision. the spinach salad was about 3/4 cup spinach, a slice of jicima, maybe a tablespoon of hearts of palm, and a good amount of avocado. it was much more side than dinner salad, though the price did not indicate this. i paired it with the pear juice which was good but it wasn't fresh made and was a little more expensive than most other juice places. i would go back but stick to sandwiches. staff still awesome though!

  • Had a sandwich and it was ok. It was cold and the size definitely not worth the money. Dessert was subpar, but the juice was good. No atmosphere at all, it's just a little take out place. Wanted to like it more since I work in the neighborhood, am a vegan and am tired of Chipotle and Whole Foods options.

The staff is always great, super friendly and very helpful if you have questions or want suggestions. Super recommend the buffalo chicken and the hummus avocado wrap. Gaaahhh, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

  • The aesthetics of the space seem pretty soul-less to me, but it's ok because it's mostly a take-out spot. I've only eaten one sandwich here so far (the thanksgiving one), but on the basis of its deliciousness I feel compelled to give the whole restaurant a 5 on the food scale. Reasonably priced (for midtown-ish lunch options, at least) too!

  • Everything i've tried has been very good. Wish they had more options, but as a sandwich shop this place is excellent. The Meatball Sub is amazing. There salads are a little weak and that's why I gave them only 4 stars. As other posters mentioned, there are only a handful of stools so plan on takeout or delivery.

  • Finally, some decent vegan food in Chelsea! Before this, I would've gone for Indian at the places on Lex & 28th, Home on 8th, Woorijip, or Minar...none of which are very close, but preferable to Bonobo (blech). Now there's Loving Hut (ok, not great), and Terri.

The bread was high-quality and fresh - even better than 'Snice, which this place is most comparable to. I got the bacon chicken ranch sandwich and a potato salad. It tasted like a higher-quality Foodswings sandwich. I am definitely excited to try their other food. Prices are a bit high for this Brooklynite, but fine for the neighborhood.

Just a warning - this place is a tiny counter bar catering to the midtown lunch crowd, NOT a real restaurant. Don't come with friends - this is definitely a "grab something, eat, and leave" place.

  • I was pumped about a vegan place being in this location but was TOTALLY disappointed. The wrap I had was subpar, the shake was good, but there is no place to sit and the whole experience was ruined by one of the staff who had a HUGE chip on his shoulder. I later found out that was the owner. What a drag.

  • How great to have a vegan place to eat in this area filled with fast food joints!! After a day of shopping, we went and were treated by super-friendly staff and offered free tastings of the apple-cinnamon donuts (delicious).

The "chicken cheddar bacon ranch" sandwich was really good and the Thanksgiving sandwich was good too. We will definitely go back and try others. The vanilla shake was also yummy.

Yes, there is only counter seating so timing is important. We were lucky and had our choice of seats. They even brought our food to us. It was fun to eat and watch the rush hour crowd walking by outside.

A great place in an area that soooo needed a vegan place. My only suggestions: tables (but it's small so very little room) and side dishes like fries (but they might be going for very healthy). The sandwiches might not look big but they are definitely filling.

  • I don't know why people are calling this place a restaurant. I went there with 5 friends and there was no place to sit so we left and went to Angelicas. There is no place to sit other than on a few stools that are at a counter that looks out onto 23rd street. It's set up as a juice bar and it's next to a gym. One of us ordered a sandwich just to try it, it was "ok". Definitely something you could make at home.

  • I thought that the place was ok. I had a butterfinger shake which was awesome and a thanksgiving sandwich, but the original vegan thanksgiving sandwich is soo much better at 'Snice. All in all it was pretty cool-nice flower art.
The counter people were super friendly and helpful, but i met the owner and he seems really full of himself and obnoxious. Minus some stars for that!

The menu offerings are all fresh takes on classic ideas; one is more enticing than the next. No matter what you choose, I implore you to try the Butterfinger shake; it's the bomb.

  • I really want to like this place but I've had two not so great experiences. The first was with their apple & beet juice. It seemed really thick and made me wonder how long it had been sitting there. The second was finding a long hair in a sandwich I ordered. That was pretty gross and I threw the sandwich out. Don't think I'll be back any time soon.

  • Been here twice now...the environment is very bright and cheery and clean and the food is good. I'm somewhat sensitive to soy, so more soy-free options would bring it up to an excellent for me. However, I will say the service is super friendly (okay, I'll admit, I was the one who dropped their sandwich immediately after getting it and they made me another right away free of charge and didn't laugh at me too hard!) and the baked goods - brownie and cupcake so far - were delicious. And, the coffee! So good I had a cup at 11PM and it may have been worth the bouncing of the walls that ensued. Also, I have to say thank you for vegan options in Flatiron! Will be back!!

It's great that you can substitute rice milk for soy in the drinks, but it would be good to see more non-soy items on the menu (seitan please!). Agree with the other reviews that more seating would be good. Loved the friendly attitude of the staff.

  • My boyfriend and I have already been there twice and tried four different sandwiches and YUMMERS!!! The Chicken Ranch number is amazing. The meatball sub made me drool...it needed more sauce but now I know for next time. The Chick Pea Tuna Melt was great also...needed something more but yummy anyhow. The other Buffulo Chicken was great too...messy but yummy! Now the Peanut Butter Chocolate shake thing was super chocolately and you can request for rice mild instead of soy. Cupcakes and Ginseng Lemonade is even more of a reason to go. I think I need to go again for something else! Hehe...try this place for a quick and uber filling meal!!! I think the down fall is the chairs though...I am a short gal and I almost fell a bunch of times. Super friendly staff that is open for suggestions.

  • i though san francisco had one-uped us on sandwiches, but no longer!
after a long day of political marches i was stuck in midtown and starving - a dire situation for any vegan. i remembered seeing this and decided to stop by. small menu but everything sounds fantastic. brownies that were out and cooling looked killer but on the cold night i opted for a meatball sub that comes on a panini with marinara and daiya. it was phenomenal - the best vegan sandwich i've had that was not made by my own two hands. not to mention clean, bright environment, amazingly friendly staff. only complaint would be that i wish there was more seating because it was quite busy when i went in and i had to hover a bit. i would even go out of my way to stop by again. foodswings needs to make a trip by to learn how it is done. looking forward to trying out some of their other options in the future!

It really put Foodswing's version of that to shame. Plenty of ranch, the daiya cheese is amazing, and the bacon and chicken were very tasty. The butterfinger smoothie was also incredibly delicious. This place is a very welcome addition to the neighborhood, I just wish they had more seating!

  • I stopped by Terri today after first reading about Terri here on Supervegan.com. I had just worked out and wanted something that would stick to my ribs. A sandwich would be just the thing, but which one? I was immediately drawn to the meatball sandwich because I make them at home all the time with vegan meatballs and Follow Your Heart vegan mozzarella, and I wanted to see how much better theirs was than mine. I asked the counter person to recommend something (she was very friendly) and she told me that the meatball sandwich is very popular. She also recommended the Thanksgiving sandwich.

I went with my original plan and ordered the meatball sandwich. It was delicious! If you haven't tried Daiya, you really don't know what you're missing. It is the best vegan cheese I have ever had, and I've been vegan for 21 years and have tried just about everything! It was served kind of panini style with ample Daiya. A tiny bit more sauce would have been nice, but I can specify that next time- and there will be many next times, I'm sure. Actually, next time, I'm going to try the Thanksgiving sandwich because it sounds pretty darn good.

I also ordered two chocolate cupcakes. They were moist and the frosting was sweet but not overwhelmingly so.

    I'll be back soon!
